For those who are not so mathematically minded, the state of this country's economy can be quite difficult to grasp.
Added to which we are bamboozled every day on the news by so called experts whose points of views are totally different from each other, so how are we mere mortals with no economics background or knowledge of finance or annuity rates supposed to understand whether this country is heading to the dogs?
I think it is reasonable to say that for many people, the main issue is how it will affect us and our children. I know this is selfish but when you hear about the budget deficit and the impending cuts in the economy, it is only natural to ask how safe our job is, whether we will be able to afford the mortgage and if we will be able to send our children to university.
You cannot deny that the current budget deficits and economic crisis are having a profound and lasting effect on our lives.
Inflation is running at an all time high which salary increases are not keeping up with; those with savings are being hit hard as they are getting hardly any interest; and it is getting harder to find a job which can only get worse when the public sector start to shed jobs.
